Your Role as a Job Coach
As a Job Coach at Kimwell Nursing Home, your primary responsibility will be to assist our residents in preparing for, finding, and maintaining employment opportunities. You will provide guidance and support in various aspects of the job search process, including resume building, interview skills, and job application assistance. With your expertise, you will empower our residents to become self-sufficient and achieve their vocational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with residents to assess their employment-related skills, interests, and goals
- Provide one-on-one coaching and support in the development of effective job search strategies
- Assist residents in creating and revising resumes and cover letters to highlight their qualifications
- Conduct mock interviews and offer constructive feedback to enhance interview performance
- Identify suitable job opportunities and prepare residents for specific job requirements
- Support residents in completing job applications and navigating online job portals
- Facilitate job readiness workshops and training sessions to enhance employment-related skills
- Maintain regular communication and collaboration with employers to foster successful placements
- Monitor and evaluate resident progress towards employment goals
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to residents in their job placements
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Prior experience in vocational counseling, job coaching, or a related field
- Strong understanding of the job market and employment trends
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with residents
- Knowledge of resume building techniques and interview preparation strategies
- Familiarity with online job search platforms and resources
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their vocational goals
