As a key member of our legal department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to the organization's management team regarding employment-related matters
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Review and draft employment contracts, policies, and procedures
- Manage employment-related disputes, investigations, and litigation
- Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on changes in employment law
- Collaborate with HR and cross-functional teams to develop and implement best practices
- Ensure legal compliance throughout the recruitment and hiring process
- Provide training and guidance to managers and employees on employment-related legal matters
- Participate in negotiations and settlements related to employment disputes
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an employment attorney
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Experience in healthcare or long-term care industry is a plus
