Responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional

As a Direct Support Professional at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing compassionate and person-centered care to residents
  • Assisting with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Administering medication and monitoring health conditions
  • Supporting residents in maintaining their independence and enhancing their quality of life
  • Building meaningful relationships with residents and their families
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
  • Documenting resident information and providing updates to the care team
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for the position of Direct Support Professional at Kimwell Nursing Home, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Valid certification in CPR and First Aid
