Position Overview

As a Rehabilitation Speech Pathologist Assistant at Kimwell Nursing Home in Garland, you will play a vital role in assisting our residents in their speech and communication therapy. You will work closely with our Speech Pathologists to develop and implement treatment plans, conduct assessments, and provide hands-on support to residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating and diagnosing speech and communication disorders
  • Implement treatment plans through individual and group therapy sessions
  • Conduct swallowing assessments and provide appropriate interventions
  • Administer standardized tests and document progress
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program
  • Valid state license or certification
  • Experience working with geriatric patients preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
