Some of the key responsibilities of a Behavioral Health Technician include:

  • Assessing residents' mental health status and identifying any behavioral concerns
  • Developing and implementing appropriate interventions and behavior management strategies
  • Assisting residents with daily activities, including personal care and medication administration
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to create comprehensive care plans
  • Documenting observations, progress, and changes in residents' behaviors

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  1. Education and Certification: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional certifications or coursework in mental health or geriatric care are preferred.
  2. Experience: Prior experience working with elderly or behavioral health patients is highly desirable.
