As a Recreation Aide, you'll have the chance to create and coordinate a variety of recreational programs and activities that cater to the unique interests and needs of our residents.

With a focus on promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being, you'll collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to develop stimulating programs that encourage socialization, enhance cognitive abilities, and improve overall health. Your dedication and creativity will be key in fostering a lively and supportive environment for our residents.

Responsibilities of a Recreation Aide

As a Recreation Aide at Kimwell Nursing Home, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, organizing, and implementing a diverse range of recreational activities for residents
  • Assessing residents' interests, abilities, and preferences to ensure activities are engaging and tailored to their needs
  • Collaborating with other staff members to develop a monthly activity calendar
  • Leading group activities, such as arts and crafts, music therapy, exercise classes, and games
  • Providing one-on-one support to residents who may need personalized assistance during activities
  • Documenting residents' participation and progress in recreational programs
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents during all activities

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, we are seeking candidates who possess:

  • A genuine passion for working with seniors and promoting their well-being
  • Prior experience working in a similar recreation or activities role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creativity and the ability to develop innovative and exciting programs
  • Basic knowledge of therapeutic recreational practices
  • Flexibility in working with varying schedules, including weekends and holidays
