Your Responsibilities
As a Direct Support Life Skills Trainer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Personalized Care Plans
Collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans based on the unique needs and goals of each resident.
2. Life Skills Training
Providing hands-on training and support to residents in various life skills areas, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and household chores.
3. Emotional Support
Offering emotional support and encouragement to residents, promoting their overall well-being and helping them maintain a positive outlook on life.
4. Documentation and Reporting
Maintaining accurate documentation of residents' progress, interventions, and any changes in their condition. Reporting observations and concerns promptly to the appropriate team members.
5. Collaboration and Communication
Collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care and a holistic approach.
Your Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
1. Relevant Experience
Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a geriatric or aging care setting. Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and techniques for assisting individuals with daily living activities is highly beneficial.
2. Compassionate Nature
A genuine passion for helping others and a compassionate nature. Patience, kindness, and empathy are vital qualities for providing exceptional care in this role.
3. Strong Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to effectively interact with residents, their families, and the healthcare team.
