About the Position

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in assisting residents with their daily activities, promoting their independence and well-being. You will work closely with our highly trained staff to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained at all times. This position requires compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills to effectively support our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Support residents in maintaining a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Help residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed schedules, documenting any changes or concerns.
  • Provide emotional support to residents, actively listening to their needs and concerns.
  • Engage residents in social activities, encourage participation, and promote a sense of community.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and therapists, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' conditions to the appropriate medical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and maintain accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar role or a background in healthcare is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications or training is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate nature, with a genuine desire to provide the highest quality care.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and infection control protocols.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
