About the Position

As a Foster Care Social Worker at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will play a crucial role in assessing the needs of foster children and their families, developing individualized care plans, and coordinating appropriate resources to ensure their well-being. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify strengths, needs, and risks
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as counselors, therapists, and healthcare providers, to develop and implement effective interventions
  • Supporting foster families in providing a nurturing and stable environment for the children
  • Advocating for the rights and best interests of foster children
  • Preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records
  • Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Valid licensure as a Social Worker in the state of Maryland
  • Proven experience in providing social work services to children and families
  • Strong knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and best practices in foster care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Passion for advocacy and commitment to promoting child welfare
