- Developing and implementing a diverse calendar of engaging activities to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of our residents
- Creating individualized activity plans based on each resident's interests, abilities, and cognitive levels
- Leading group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy sessions, exercise classes, and educational programs
- Organizing outings and social events to promote socialization and community involvement
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure a holistic approach to resident care
- Documenting resident participation and progress
- Adhering to all regulatory guidelines and best practices in activities programming
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting
- A passion for working with seniors and improving their quality of life
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Creative thinking and the ability to tailor activities to diverse interests and abilities
- Proficiency in utilizing technology for activity planning and documentation
- An understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by seniors
- Flexibility in work schedule, including weekends and evenings
- A certified activities professional (CAP) designation is a plus
