About the Occupational Therapist Assistant Role

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will play a crucial role in assisting licensed Occupational Therapists in evaluating and implementing treatment plans for our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in Assessments: Conducting initial assessments and documenting residents' functional abilities and limitations.
• Treatment Planning: Collaborating with the Occupational Therapist to develop individualized treatment plans based on residents' goals and needs.
• Implementing Therapy: Administering therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions as prescribed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Evaluating Progress: Monitoring residents' progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Providing Support: Assisting residents in adapting to their living environment and recommending adaptive equipment, as needed.
• Documenting and Reporting: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of treatment sessions and patient progress.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Education: Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program or equivalent.
• Licensure: Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of Nevada.
• Experience: Previous experience in a geriatric or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks and lift/move patients with proper body mechanics.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to accurately document patient progress and treatment plans.
