About the Role

As a Life Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for facilitating and implementing therapeutic activities for our residents. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to create personalized care plans, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing residents' needs and interests to develop individualized care plans
  • Planning and leading group and individual therapy sessions
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to monitor residents' progress
  • Assisting residents with daily living activities and personal care
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate records of residents' behavior and progress
  • Providing emotional support and encouragement to residents
  • Ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A genuine passion for working with the elderly and promoting their independence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Empathy and patience
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
  • A valid certification or degree related to healthcare or gerontology is desired
