The Role of a Youth Worker

As a Youth Worker at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will have the opportunity to engage and support our younger residents in various activities and programs designed to promote growth, learning, and emotional well-being. With your genuine dedication and enthusiasm, you will create a positive and nurturing atmosphere that fosters meaningful interactions and enhances the overall quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and organizing age-appropriate recreational activities for our youth residents
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young individuals during their stay
  • Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans
  • Monitor and document the progress and well-being of youth residents
  • Effectively communicate with parents, guardians, and other staff members regarding the needs and progress of the youth population
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to care

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Previous experience working with children and young adults
  • A genuine passion for empowering and supporting youth populations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Knowledge of youth development and trauma-informed care
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications are a plus)
