Responsibilities

As a Direct Support Professional Caregiver at Kimwell Nursing Home, your primary responsibility will be to provide personal care and assistance to residents. You will be involved in tasks such as:

  • Assisting with daily activities including grooming, bathing, and dressing
  • Monitoring and administering medications according to prescribed schedules
  • Assisting with mobility, transfers, and positioning
  • Preparing meals and ensuring dietary needs are met
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Assisting in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment
  • Proactively communicating with healthcare professionals and families

Qualifications

To be considered for the Direct Support Professional Caregiver position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a caregiver or in a related field
  • Valid certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patience and empathy towards elderly individuals
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
