Your Role as a Direct Support Professional

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting seniors with their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Providing medication reminders and assisting with medication management.
  • Assisting with meal planning, preparation, and feeding.
  • Engaging in social and recreational activities with residents.
  • Escorting residents to medical appointments and community outings.
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' health or behavior.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, we seek individuals who possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a direct support or caregiving role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with seniors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
