Responsibilities of Residential Youth Support Specialist

As a Residential Youth Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing emotional support and companionship to residents
  • Assisting with activities of daily living, such as bathing and dressing
  • Monitoring residents' health and reporting any changes to the medical team
  • Planning and implementing recreational activities to promote physical and mental well-being
  • Administering medications as prescribed
  • Ensuring the safety and comfort of residents
  • Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of residents' progress and activities

Requirements for Residential Youth Support Specialist

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Valid certification or license as a Residential Youth Support Specialist
  • Prior experience in geriatric care or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Compassionate and patient nature
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Understanding of the aging process and associated challenges
