About the Position

As a Life Skills Trainer at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will play a vital role in helping our residents maintain independence and enhance their overall well-being. Responsibilities

As a Life Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation
• Implementing individualized care plans based on residents' specific needs and goals
• Providing emotional support and companionship to residents
• Engaging residents in social and recreational activities
• Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' physical and mental health
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care
• Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents
• Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in geriatric care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to empathize and connect with individuals experiencing cognitive and physical challenges
• Knowledge of various therapeutic techniques and activities beneficial to individuals with different abilities
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Valid CPR and First Aid certifications
