About the Position
As a Life Skills Trainer at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will play a vital role in helping our residents maintain independence and enhance their overall well-being. Responsibilities
As a Life Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation
- Implementing individualized care plans based on residents' specific needs and goals
- Providing emotional support and companionship to residents
- Engaging residents in social and recreational activities
- Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' physical and mental health
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care
- Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents
- Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in geriatric care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to empathize and connect with individuals experiencing cognitive and physical challenges
- Knowledge of various therapeutic techniques and activities beneficial to individuals with different abilities
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications
