Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders in residents
  • Create customized treatment plans tailored to individual needs
  • Implement evidence-based therapy techniques to address speech and language difficulties
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies for improving communication

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Experience working with geriatric and aging populations is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
