The Role of a Direct Support Professional

As a Direct Support Professional at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Administering medication and monitoring vital signs
  • Creating and implementing individualized care plans
  • Engaging residents in recreational activities
  • Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in the Geriatric and Aging Care field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassion and empathy towards individuals in need
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications
