Job Description

As a Direct Support Professional at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will play a crucial role in supporting our residents with their daily living activities. Your empathetic and compassionate nature will be utilized to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with geriatric and aging care needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting residents with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Administering medication as per the prescribed schedule
  • Monitoring and documenting residents' health status
  • Assisting with mobility and transfers
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Engaging residents in recreational activities
  • Ensuring a clean and safe environment
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans

Requirements

To qualify for the position of Direct Support Professional at Kimwell Nursing Home, you should possess the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a similar role preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy and understanding towards individuals with geriatric care needs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and strong observational skills
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Ability to pass a background check
