Job Description

As a Direct Support Professional at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will play a crucial role in assisting residents with their daily activities and personal care. This involves providing hands-on assistance, monitoring health and well-being, and promoting a safe and comfortable living environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting residents with personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Administering medications and monitoring their effects.
  • Supporting residents with mobility and assisting in physical therapy exercises.
  • Assisting with meal planning, preparation, and feeding.
  • Engaging residents in recreational activities and social interactions.
  • Documenting residents' progress and reporting any changes or concerns to the supervisor.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare or caregiving setting.
  • Valid certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for providing care to the elderly.
  • Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions.
