Job Description

As a Direct Support Professional Caregiver at Kimwell Nursing Home, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to our residents. Your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Daily Living Assistance

You will assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. You will ensure their hygiene and comfort, promoting dignity and independence.

2. Medication Administration

Administering medications accurately and timely is crucial for our residents' well-being. You will follow prescribed medication schedules, document administration details, and monitor any side effects.

3. Emotional Support

Building trusting relationships with our residents is essential. You will offer emotional support, engage in meaningful conversations, listen attentively, and provide companionship to combat loneliness.

4. Care Planning and Documentation

Working closely with the healthcare team, you will contribute to care planning and document residents' health status, observations, and changes in behavior. Accurate and detailed documentation is vital for effective communication and continuity of care.

5. Social and Recreational Activities

Participating in organized social and recreational activities helps promote socialization and overall well-being. You will assist with planning and supervising activities, ensuring our residents have a fulfilling and engaging experience.

6. Safety and Emergency Response

As a Direct Support Professional Caregiver, you will prioritize resident safety. You will be trained to respond to emergencies promptly, follow safety protocols, and maintain a secure environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in caregiving or related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
